In response to the recent sharp increase in credit card fraud, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has announced in its "Credit Card Security Guidelines" that "in principle, all e-commerce affiliated stores will be required to implement EMV 3D Secure by the end of March 2025."

In response to this, from February 25, 2025, LinguaAlis will also require additional authentication when entering credit card information and making purchases.

Change 1：Card registration screen

When registering a card, you will need to enter
・Card number
・Expiration date
・CVC
・Cardholder name
・Email address
・Telephone number

With this change, an input field that must be entered has been added,
・Card holder name
In addition to that,
・Email or phone number
is now required.

Change 2：Addition of card authentication step

Added card verification step after submitting card information.

The authentication method required for this step will vary depending on your card, but it may be completed without any special steps, or SMS authentication or password authentication may be required.
Once authentication is complete, your card registration is complete.

Change 3：Addition of authentication step when using registered card

Even if your card is already registered, you will need to re-authenticate your credit card in the following cases.

• When purchasing a new subscription
• When changing subscription plans
• When purchasing a lesson package
• When charging points
